Wonderful New Zealand

New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries we have visited and luckily for us is not too far distant from Australia (about a 4 hour or so flight away). Unfortunately, NZ has had some terrible tragedies in recent years and the earthquake that destroyed many beautiful buildings in Old Christchurch will be missed by anyone that has visited the region.

New Zealand people are friendly warm people that deserve better luck than they have experienced.

We have been in awe of the natural beauty of the South Island of NZ but the North Island also has some treasures of it’s own. NZ is a country of mountains, many lakes and natural green rolling countryside. In winter the country is absolutely awesome and seeing the ‘Remarkables’ at the top of the cable car in Queenstown will take your breath away. There are so many beautiful places to see and photograph including Fjord-land, Glaciers, Geysers and Volcanic areas. It is too difficult to describe how beautiful this country truly is.

Finally, visiting and experiencing the Maori culture centres and learning their history is a must and a major highlight of the trip to NZ.

We are going back again soon – I have to get some photos that I missed getting on our other visits. It is a photographers paradise.
